Countdown Cookery

Inspired by her then ten-year-old daughter’s request to make lunch one day, Isobel Marshall set to work on a book of easy-to-follow recipes that will show budding young chefs how to produce quick, tasty and nutritious meals
without causing havoc in the kitchen.

Whether the family fancies staples such as mince and potatoes or a more exotic fish custard, Countdown Cookery will guide the pint-sized
gastronome through finding the best ingredients, preparation, cooking safely (with adult supervision), laying the table and –
to keep parental blood pressure down – tidying up afterwards.

So, for all those boys and girls who are itching to get into the kitchen,
three, two, one – get cooking!

Oliver Boo

The Oliver Boo book encourages children under five-years-old to form their own creation from their imagination. There is a little descriptive text to help them along. The rhyming stories should help children familiarize themselves with expressions and feelings once they have become fond of the character and the easy rhythmic style of the writing.

The idea of this book was formed from my contact with children over years of working as a child-minder. This close contact led me to believe that children like familiar characters and can relate books to real life. It’s these life experiences, happy and funny memories that drove me to write the Oliver Boo stories.

The illustrations that represent each story are without any drawings of Oliver Boo. Your child may like to draw their own Oliver Boo in each picture, and they can do this by downloading the pictures from www.oliverboo.co.uk or www.oliverboo.com.

Mokee Joe is Coming!

’Hudson Brown always knew he was different but when he receives the sinister message ‘Mokee Joe is Coming!’ he quickly finds out just how different he really is. No one, but no one, would want to be in his shoes; his ultimate nightmare is out there, lurking in the shadows, and it’s coming to get him!’

Mokee Joe is an excellent baddie... well-described and scary... You may not sleep for a while afterwards!
ELLA JONES - Star of BBC TV’s The Queen’s Nose
Brilliant from start to finish... Where’s the sequel?
CHRIS CROOKALL - “Andy” in BBC TV’s Grange Hill
Highly original plot, real heart-in-the-mouth stuff... Hudson is a very loveable character - the sort of boy every girl wants to marry.

Zachary and the Salamander

Ten-year-old Zachary (known to his friends as Zac) has a fundamentally happy life blighted by an unhappy mystery – the disappearance of his sister Sarah two years earlier.
So when he finds a sleepy, not to mention sullen, salamander in his fireplace, and the salamander offers to help him find Sarah by travelling back in time, Zac seizes the chance to restore his sister to the family and indulge in some inter-century adventure.
As they return to the ancient Mediterranean, the Wild West, Revolutionary France and the future in 3000 AD, Zachary and the salamander come to respect their differences, and learn the real meaning of ‘there’s no place like home’.

Atchoo Stories

Parrots are normally known for talking, or at least squawking. But Atchoo is a parrot who, living up to his name, is partial to a bit of a sneeze. He only ever lets out one a day, but the timing of each sneeze can change the day’s events for better or for worse.

With a busy cast of colourfully-named characters such as Uncle Bunion and Old Jelly-Belly, Atchoo Stories are fun-filled tales with a pantomime quality that will tickle readers young and old.
