If we could break through from life to the after-life for a fleeting visit, what would we anticipate? The author describes his own views and his fictional journey through a door and passage into the world of spirit. The description of the passageway is based upon his inner conviction which, he feels, was supported by a degree of spiritual guidance. He also describes a very unusual experience he had during a period of meditation which changed his outlook on life. For a period of ten years Frederick Leo intermittently received communications from guardian beings of the spirit world, whose words and guidance he has recorded in these pages, interspersed with his own personal reflections and questions on spiritual matters. The Door of Discovery is written for two main groups of reader: `for those,' says the author, `who wish to treat it as a complete work of fiction; and for those who will digest its messages with various degrees of understanding and belief.' In either case, its wisdom will be welcome.
Frederick Leo was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, during the 1920s. He joined the Royal Navy at 18 and saw active service in the North Sea, the Atlantic and the Pacific, ending his career aboard a destroyer at Tokyo Bay, from which he was close enough to witness the Japanese surrender on board the USS Missouri. He later served as a police constable in the Lincolnshire force, and then worked as a welfare officer and senior social worker for 31 years before retiring in 1984. The Door of Discovery

Prayer is when we speak to God either collectively or as individuals and its benefits are manifold for those who pray with conviction. Prayers of Jesus and the Saints deals with learning how to pray effectively by believing that our prayers have been answered even as we utter them, and having absolute faith in God's presence. It is a guide that can be used by both laymen preachers and those seeking to live a Christian life in accordance with God's wishes as recorded in the Holy Scriptures. As well as examining the structure, content and lengths of prayers, Cardinal Walkin raises certain key questions many people may ask, such as: why does God not answer all our prayers? The answers are heartening. Prayers of Jesus and the
